Dr. Newkirk

Dr. Anthony J. Newkirk is a top graduate of the dental school at Oregon Health Sciences University, and earned a B.S. in Pharmacy with high honors at Oregon State University. In 1999, he won the highly-selective Presidential Award from Northwest Medical Teams. Dr. Newkirk is actively engaged in pioneering dental procedures, and has mastered techniques including oral surgery and bone grafting implantology. He participates in more than 100 hours of continuing education every year, ensuring that he remains up to date with the most cutting-edge dentistry techniques.

Dr. Newkirk grew up in Rainier, Oregon, where his he spent his childhood reading books and playing competitive sports. He married the love his life in 1994 after graduating with honors from dental school, and now spends his weekends cheering on his children, Haelie and Luke, in their extracurricular activities. Dr. Newkirk devotes his spare time to studying current topics in dentistry and pharmacy, and is eager to master every part of the discipline so he can provide his patients the best care possible.

Dr. Montgomery

Dr. Mark W. Montgomery has been committed to excellent patient care since graduating from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1980. His experience in all aspects of dental care has been enhanced by extensive work in dental continuing education. This background has built a strong commitment to comprehensive health grounded in beautiful smiles, excellent chewing function, and a healthy biological focus.

Dr. Montgomery is well known for his mastery of skills in the areas of Invisalign orthodontics, smile enhancement and veneers, reconstruction and restoration of worn and damaged teeth, and in controlling tooth grinding and sleep disordered breathing. His greatest talents are in the area of comprehensive diagnosis of complex problems. He also has achieved his Fellowship in the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics (FACE).

Dr. Montgomery grew up in Portland, St. Helens, and Seaside, Oregon. He went to college at Clatsop Community College, Portland State University and Oregon State University where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree. He has grown children and spends his spare time with his wife, Susan. They enjoy the theater, reading, politics, and reveling in their newly found "empty nest".

Additionally, Dr. Montgomery lectures nationally and internationally to dentists. He is best known as an influential opinion leader in the areas of Invisalign, chewing systems and occlusion, and aesthetic smile design dentistry. Mark's enthusiasm and ability to transfer knowledge in a way that is easily understood has made him one of the most requested speakers in dentistry today. He is a member in the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Association of Orthodontics and Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics. He is on the faculty of Aligntech Institute and the Hornbrook Group.

Smile Gallery

This patient had extensive decay around old front fillings. The Synergy Dental team restored the decayed fillings with six veneers, resulting in a healthy new smile.
With severely worn teeth, this patient had an uneven, ragged smile before treatment. Dr. Newkirk replaced the front teeth with six crowns, providing the client with an entirely new look.
This patient had slightly uneven, yellow teeth prior to treatment. After treatment with eight veneers, the outcome was a dazzling, white smile.

Prior to treatment, this patient had a mouthful of broken and decayed teeth. Dr. Newkirk treated the patient with five direct veneers, dramatically improving the health and appearance of the teeth.
Dr. Newkirk treated this patient's dental wear and discoloration. The result was a beautiful new smile.
This patient had tetracycline stains, as well as two crowded crowns on the front teeth. Ten crowns later, the patient ended up with a beautiful, white smile.

Chipped lower teeth and uneven upper teeth marred this patient's smile. The Synergy Dental Center gave this patient a great new smile with veneers on the lower two front teeth.
Dr. Newkirk used four new crowns to restore this patient's severely worn teeth.
